Nietzsche and the Death of God

According to Nietzsche, “God is dead! God remains dead! And we have killed him!” What does this mean? Honestly, it seems irrational. However, God is said to be immortal in the Bible and hence cannot die. Nietzsche claims that God is no longer alive. He backs up his claim by portraying a crazy man who furiously searches the community for an honest individual who believes in God. Their reactions include hysterical laughing, as if the man is insane. The insane man eventually realizes that humanity is unaware of God’s death and its significance. It will take time for the significance of the event to be realized by the general public. God no longer exists, and is irrelevant in society (Nietzsche et al., n.d.). Conversely, this essay will support this claim and his arguments for it.
